About Mount Abu
Mount Abu is a popular hill station in the Aravalli Range in Sirohi district of Rajasthan state, western India near the border of Gujarat. The ancient name of Mount Abu is Arbudaanchal.
It is referred to as 'an oasis in the desert' as its mountains are home to rivers, lakes, waterfalls and evergreen forests.
It is the only hill station in Rajasthan, and is located at an elevation of 1,220 m (4,003 ft). It has been a popular retreat away from the scorching heat of Rajasthan and neighbouring Gujarat for centuries.

How to Reach Mount Abu
Nearest Railway station to Mount Abu is Abu Road Railway station which is only 27 km away.
The nearest airport is Dabok Airpot, Udaipur (another Tourism destination in Rajasthan) at a distance of 185 km,
Ahmedabad Airport is just 221 KM from Abu, & is having better connectivity & daily flights with other parts of the country.
From these destinations you can directly reach abu with daily operating easily available Cabs, Private Buses and Govt. Buses.
It takes around 2hrs 40 min from Udaipur to Mount Abu and 4:00 hrs from Ahmedabad to Mount Abu via private cars/cabs.
Climate of Mount Abu / Current Temperature Mount Abu
Summer : Summer season prevails from mid of April to mid of June when average Maximum temperature remains around 36 °C. Therefore it will be better if you bring light cotton clothes. These clothes are fit for the summers of Mount Abu.
Monsoon : Due to its relief and geographical conditions, it rains well in Mount Abu during the monsoons. During the rainy season even the temperature falls down. Normal summer clothing will do. It is wiser to carry an umbrella in order to avoid being caught at the wrong side of monsoon.
Winter : Winters are cool in Mount Abu, with mercury hovering around 16 °C to 22 °C. Nights are really chilly and average night temperature is around 4 to 12 °C. Nevertheless, there are instances when the temperature has dipped to as low as −2 to −3 °C. Heavy winter clothing is preferable. You can include long coats and outsiders in your luggage. In daytime, light pullovers are sufficient.

The heart of Mount Abu and hub of evening activities. - Tourists can induldge in Local Shopping, Boating, Horse riding and grabbing delicious food from food joints and restaurants, around.
Dilware Jain Temples : 3.1 km - 10 min
These temples are dated way back in the 11th - 13th centuries AD, and are famous for the outstanding carvings from white marble of Ansori hills (Ambaji). These temples are a very important pilgrimage site for Jain.
Gurusikhar : 16kms - 30 min
A peak in the Arbuda Mountains of Rajasthan. It is the highest point of the Aravalli Range. It rises to an elevation of 1,722 meters (5,676 feet). It is named Guru - Shikhar or 'the peak of the guru' after Dattatreya, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, and a cave at the summit contains a temple dedicated to him.

Tip : Go there to see sunrise and then enjoy local snacks freshly made with tea, from food stalls around there.
Achalgarh : 10kms - 20 min
A fort originally built by the Paramara dynasty rulers and later reconstructed, renovated and named as Achalgarh by Maharana Kumbha in 1452 CE. Outside the fort is is the Achaleshwar Mahadev Temple, a popular Shiva temple.
Sunset Point : 2kms - 10 min
Enjoy the sun setting with a mesmerising panaromic view of mountains.
